The Bridge

Most game designers specialize. They find their genre—Euro-strategy, narrative RPG, family card game—and they dig in. They become known for a particular kind of experience, a particular weight class, a particular audience.

Sen-Foong Lim builds bridges between genres.

In a fifteen-year career spanning roughly thirty-five published designs, Lim has worked in Euro-strategy, dexterity, party games, hidden movement, escape-room puzzles, tower defense, and tabletop RPGs. He has designed games for Tasty Minstrel, Z-Man, Pretzel Games, IDW, Lucky Duck, The Op, WizKids, Avalon Hill, and Wet Ink. His collaborator list reads like a Canadian design summit. His genre range is, by the evidence, the widest of any designer in this project.

And nearly every one of those designs was built with someone else.
